What to expect on first session of therapy

The first session can be very daunting for someone who has never been in therapy before and sometimes, even for those returning, whether to the same person or a different therapist altogether.

Here is what to expect

  • You will be met by your therapist at the time of your booking
  • You will sign a consent form and agreement that you agree to the process and are not coerced by anyone
  • The therapist will explain to you what the therapy process entails and how frequently you will be meeting
  • You can ask any questions you may have
  • Then we talk about what brought you to us, in a pace that is comfortable to you
  • 50 minutes later, we stop, and we meet again in the next session
